Let’s Play League of Legends

Posted in Games by

My League of Legends character is Annie. Meet her below. That is the only character in the game that I play. Once I have my eyes set on a character, I won’t pick any other. It is a disadvantage seeing as I don’t have any knowledge of builds for any other character. Every time I say, “Okay, try to pick another character. You play Annie way too much,” I end up picking her anyway. I might not be a pro at LoL, but I’ve survived long with this build. I’ve only focused on AP (Ability Power), which leaves my defense pretty open. Below I’ll show what my builds consist with this character and that’s pretty much it. This is my only character in LoL. Even in DOTA 2, I only use my favorite hero, whose build I’ll post after this one.

Meet Annie & Tibbers

In the time shortly before the League, there were those within the sinister city-state of Noxus who did not agree with the evils perpetrated by the Noxian High Command. The High Command had just put down a coup attempt from the self-proclaimed Crown Prince Raschallion, and a crack down on any form of dissent against the new government was underway. These political and social outcasts, known as the Gray Order, sought to leave their neighbors in peace as they pursued dark arcane knowledge. The leaders of this outcast society were a married couple: Gregori Hastur, the Gray Warlock, and his wife Amoline, the Shadow Witch. Together they led an exodus of magicians and other intelligentsia from Noxus, resettling their followers beyond the Great Barrier to the northern reaches of the unforgiving Voodoo Lands. Though survival was a challenge at times, the Gray Order’s colony managed to thrive in a land where so many others would have failed.

Years after the exodus, Gregori and Amoline had a child: Annie. Early on, Annie’s parents knew there was something special about their daughter. At the age of two, Annie miraculously ensorcelled a shadow bear – a ferocious denizen of the petrified forests outside the colony – turning it into her pet. To this day she keeps her bear ”Tibbers” by her side, often keeping him spellbound as a stuffed doll to be carried like a child’s toy. The combination of Annie’s lineage and the dark magic of her birthplace have given this little girl tremendous arcane power. It is this same girl who now finds herself as one of the most sought-after champions within the League of Legends – even by the city-state that would have exiled her parents had they not fled beforehand.

Abilities Build

I usually leave Molten Shield until last in exchange for more AP.

Disintegrate is extremely useful against ranged champions. Some champions like Katarina have ridiculous range where this ability can be useful. I suggest you build up your stun by throwing final blows to minions with Disintegrate or sneak some towards the opposing champion. Of course, since Annie is a mid laner, you’ll only have to worry about one enemy early on, unless some other mid laner beats you to it. THEN Disintegrate can be useful, especially with a lane partner doing melee. Make sure not to waste your stuns on minions though, because it can be extremely useful to get out of a chase. If you’re low on health, try and escape, but first stun your enemy (can also be said if an ally is getting chased down by an imminent gank). Another useful suggestion is when going 1v1. At level 6+, stun your enemy with Disintegrate, next use Incinerate and top it off with your ultimate Summon Tibbers. This will deal extremely big damage, that is if you’re focused on AP, and even slay your enemy. As for spells, I always pick Ghost and Heal, which have proven extremely useful to me. Although if you want to deal more power (nuke), swap out Heal with Ignite, which Ignites target enemy champion  dealing 70-410 true damage (depending on champion level) over 5 seconds and reduces healing effects on the target for the duration. This spell is great for a final blow to a dying enemy champion.

Ultimate

Annie’s ultimate is Summon Tibbers.

Annie wills her bear Tibbers to life, dealing damage to units in the area. Tibbers can attack and also burns enemies that stand near him.

Tibbers appears in a burst of flame dealing 200/325/450 (+0.7) magic damage to enemies in the target area.

He chases down enemies continually dealing 35 (+0.2) magic damage for 45 seconds. His Health, Armor, Magic Resist, and Attack Damage increase with rank.

Tibbers can be controlled by holding the alt key and using the right mouse button or by reactivating this ability.

Items Build

This is self-explanatory. Go for AP items. Doran’s Ring is perfect for early game +80 HP, +15 Ability Power and +5 Mana Regen. /5 seconds. I like to include an Health Potion after killing some minions because I need it early in the game, plus it’s only 35g. Amplifying Tome adds +20 Ability Power, which is useful if you haven’t generated much gold yet. Boots of Speed is a MUST because come on, how else are you gonna outrun the others? I like to buy Blasting Wand (+40 Ability Power) right after instead of  Sorcerer’s Shoes (though it has 20 magic penetration) because of the same reason I’ve been using everything else: AP. From then on, you’ve gotten a hold on the game and you’re ready to start aiming for your mid lane (or whichever) opponent. I then buy Sorcerer’s Shoes in hopes of getting a couple more champion kills and push mid in order to get Needlessly Large Rod , which boosts your AP by +80. Rabadon’s Deathcap, Catalyst the Protector and Rod of Ages (or Rylai’s Crystal Scepter) – if you get that far in the game – come after. Now I have 5 items in total and don’t have much gold for anything else. I’m pretty desperate because my team needs me and I want quick AP. I buy Blasting Wand as my last item, adding +40 Ability Power. Now if you get further in the game than that, go for Rylai’s Crystal Scepter or Abyssal Scepter if you want to survive a bit longer.

Masteries

These are my current masteries, although I might need to change them again to fit my needs. Aim for health and mana regen because you’ll need them as an AP champion (badly!)

Runes

Get mana regens, health regens, ability power-ups+, and +magic penetration. Again, those are my suggestions, you choose as you see fit.

Skins

Prom Queen Annie

*Frostfire Annie

I currently own Frostfire Annie and she looks awesome. Especially with the icy effects. Other skins include Red Riding Hood Annie, Annie in Wonderland, FrankenTibbers Annie, and Gothic Annie, which are temporarily sold.

Screenies

Flawless victory!

Anivia and I did pretty good in that game.

Headed for Baron.

Definitely.

I’m not a pro League of Legends player (far from it), but I manage pretty well with the way I play. Also, you have to take into account your teammates. They can be jerks, a lot of the times people disconnect or just plain quit the game. Others intentionally feed, think they’re the leader and verbally abuse the whole team, while others are barely starting out and suck. This game is about team effort and staying together towards end-game. And there’s always a report button when the game finishes. ;) Good luck champions! Annie, out!
